Singapore Stopover on way Home

Singapore

On 16th August we headed home via a stopover in Singapore. Arriving at the hotel 8am to 27 degrees and high humidity we finally got a room around 11am going to shower and freshen up. Both jet-lagged we fell asleep eventually waking and going out to see the sights. The night photo's taken unfortunately did not work out and the next day we wandered around Singapore near our hotel before heading back to the Airport for the flight home.

Midlands

Final few days in UK were spent in Midlands - Schropshire and Dudley so we could call in and see my Uncle George before heading back to Australia.

Lakes District - 11th - 12th August 2006

Lakes District

We joined a hop-on-hop-off cruise of Derwent Water 3rd largest lake in the district. We disembarked at first stop Ashness Gate and walked up the craig to Ashness Bridge and Surprise View - further on path we went down to Lodore and Borrowdale Valley. This turned out to be a steep rocky descent leading to a waterfall but you couldn't get very close due to the ruggedness of the drop. We finally got to the bottom and walked to Brandelhow to get ride back on cruise. Total walk was about 3.5 hours and extremely hard going.
